Link Scheduling

3 min readUpdated June 15, 2026

Link scheduling lets you set a start date, end date, or both on any link. The link appears and disappears automatically at the times you set — no manual publishing or unpublishing needed.

Setting a schedule#

  1. In the bio page editor, find the link you want to schedule
  2. Click the clock icon in the link’s toolbar
  3. The schedule panel expands below the link row
  4. Set Start showing — the date and time the link becomes visible
  5. Set Stop showing — the date and time the link hides itself
  6. Click × Clear next to either field to remove that end of the window
  7. Save the bio page

A dot appears on the clock icon in the toolbar whenever a schedule is active on that link.

Field behaviour#

Both fields are optional and can be used independently:

  • Start only — link is hidden until the start time, then stays visible indefinitely
  • End only — link is visible immediately and hides itself at the end time
  • Both — link appears at the start time and disappears at the end time
  • Neither — link is always visible (default)

Timezone#

Dates and times are stored and evaluated in the site’s configured timezone. This is the timezone set under Settings → General in WordPress. Make sure it is set correctly for your location before using scheduling.

Works with page caching#

Scheduling works correctly even when your bio page is cached by a CDN or page cache plugin. The schedule times are embedded in the page HTML as ISO 8601 timestamps with timezone offset. When the page loads, a small JavaScript snippet compares the visitor’s current time against those timestamps and shows or hides the link accordingly.

This means:

  • A CDN can cache the bio page for as long as it wants
  • The correct link visibility is always applied at load time, not at cache time
  • You do not need to configure any cache exclusions for scheduled links

Combining with other controls#

Scheduling combines with geo targeting — a link can be both scheduled and geo-targeted. It will only appear for visitors in the selected countries during the scheduled window.

Scheduled links are separate from the visible/hidden toggle in the toolbar. If a link is disabled with the eye icon, it stays hidden regardless of its schedule.

Use cases#

  • Flash sales and limited-time promotions — set a start and end to match the sale window
  • Event links — show a registration link in the days before an event, then swap it for a replay link after
  • Seasonal content — schedule a holiday offer to appear and disappear automatically
  • Product launches — schedule a pre-order link to go live at a specific time without having to be at your computer
